BASEL ONLINE: 15 ROOMS
Basel Online: 15 Rooms debuted an evolution of David Zwirner’s parallel art fair experience, inviting viewers to explore 15 works in-depth by entering fifteen stand-alone rooms that included expanded information, images, and history on each work.
As an Online Viewing Room Editor, I was a key stakeholder responsible for bringing six artists' visions to the gallery's audience, curating editorial content and coordinating with the gallery's Research, Rights, and Marketing teams.
This involved direct collaboration with artist management teams, studios, and estates on content through completion. Following the editorial process, I contributed to the final build using in-house web-building tools.
Upon the project's conclusion, each of these six pages contributed to the project's initial ten sales, totaling more than $8.6 million overall. One of the six works, Kerry James Marshall's Untitled (Blot) (2015), was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“[I] don’t see figure and ground as being separable. So I don’t really see other artists and myself as being separable. I am only my influences.”¹
